ARB Brushless Air Compressors enable you to spend less time inflating and more time adventuring, Faster Air for Out There.

THE ARB BRUSHLESS ADVANTAGE

ARB is well known for a host of iconic products including air compressors. Whether powering an Air Locker differential or inflating tires, ARB Air Compressors are the gold standard for mounted or portable air power. ARB is leveling up the air compressor game with the new Brushless Air Compressor lineup, which offers a 50% increase in output over the existing line of market-leading air compressors. Plus, the Brushless units have active cooling, smart features, quick-release mounts, and an efficient design with class-leading airflow-to-weight ratio.

Brushless Air Compressors will be sold alongside ARB’s existing, world-class air compressors. Like those compressors, they’ll be available in four configurations - single and twin onboard models as well as single and twin motor portable options.

SMART FEATURES

ARB has added a host of smart features to these compressors to provide user feedback and to ensure they’re built to last.

For starters, the ARB Brushless Air Compressors provide Status Reporting. Audio and visual alerts will keep you informed of exactly what’s happening with the compressor depending on its status or if there’s an issue. The reason it’s on the switch? Compressors are usually mounted in a spot that’s hidden away or far from the user. The switch is often in a place where the user can easily see it.

The ARB Brushless Air Compressors also have voltage and overload protection. This guards against power spikes and fluctuations and helps prevent damage to the electronics. Additionally, overload protection shields the compressor and its power supply from damage due to over-current or motor stall. Both features help to increase the compressor’s reliability, durability, and longevity.

ARB Brushless Air Compressors also have Active Cooling helping to optimize reliability and extend the life of each motor. This means users can power the compressors for longer periods of time without worrying they’ll cut out or need to cool down.

If opting for one of the Brushless twin variants, they’ll come with Smart Start Up. This is a staggered starting feature that reduces power spikes at start-up allowing the twin to be used with smaller, less powerful charging systems. Plus, if your vehicle’s charging system becomes strained, the Brushless twin will turn off one of the two motors but keep working instead of completely shutting down.

Another Brushless Air Compressor benefit? There’s no motor service, since there are no wearing components. This gives the air compressor an increased life cycle. So, no matter where you are in the world, your compressors will provide plenty of power and years of service.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE BRUSHLESS MOTORS

High-performance brushless motors are engineered for efficiency and durability, making them a trusted choice in a wide range of applications, from HVAC fans to power tools. Unlike traditional motors, brushless motors contain fewer moving parts, reducing the need for maintenance while enhancing reliability. They utilize electronic speed control to deliver consistent power and performance, even in extreme pressure and temperature conditions.

The brushless design of ARB Air Compressors achieves up to a 50% increase in output compared to traditional compressors. This translates into greater power and efficiency, making them ideal for users who demand maximum performance and dependability without compromise.

ACTIVE COOLING

To keep the motors on the Brushless Air Compressors cool and efficient, ARB has employed active cooling. Each brushless motor has its own electric cooling fan to help manage heat during inflation, and each fan will automatically turn off when the unit cools down. This helps to optimize reliability and extend the life of each motor.

The bottom line? Active cooling increases performance and service life.

WHICH TO CHOOSE: ONBOARD OR PORTABLE?

Having an air compressor with you can be a game-changer. You’ll never have to worry about finding a place that has a compressor after airing down your tires on the trail. You can easily air up camping gear like air mattresses, and inflate things like rafts when out adventuring. Once you have an air compressor with you and at your disposal, you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

Like all ARB Air Compressors, the Brushless units are available in onboard or portable versions.

ONBOARD COMPRESSORS: GREAT FOR FREQUENT USE & AIR LOCKERS

Onboard compressors are permanently mounted to the vehicle, with wiring connected to the battery and a switch installed near the driver for easy operation. They can also power an Air Locker if available.

  • twinportflat

PORTABLE AIR COMPRESSORS: VERSATILE & GREAT FOR OCCASIONAL AIR

A portable compressor is ideal for smaller rigs whereby mounting space is a constraint or for those with multiple vehicles, as it can be used with any car, truck, or SUV. ARB’s portable compressors, including the Brushless model, come in a durable carry case with battery leads for easy power access—perfect for occasional use.

SINGLE OR TWIN AIR COMPRESSOR?

All ARB Air Compressors, including the Brushless, are available in single or twin variants. Simply put, a single compressor is composed of one compressor providing an air supply. It’s simple, less costly, and ideal for vehicles without a lot of space and smaller tires.

Conversely, a twin compressor system employs two compressors working in tandem to provide a greater volume of air and efficiency. Twin compressors are excellent for those with bigger rigs, more space, and large tires that require lots of air.

Both single and twin models are available in either mounted or portable versions.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN COMPRESSOR FOR YOUR ADVENTURES

Now that you’re informed about the ARB Brushless Air Compressors, you may be wondering: Do I want Brushless or should I go with the existing brushed version?

The ever-popular ARB Brushed Air Compressor range is the highest-performing brushed compressor on the market. The new ARB Brushless Air Compressors takes the performance to another level with 50% more output than the current market-leading compressors. Yes, the Brushless are more expensive, but they’re also higher performance, more efficient, and have more features. However, the existing brushed models are more affordable.

The new Brushless system is not going to replace the existing lineup. Rather, it’s a new addition to the ARB series of top-quality air compressors.

The bottom line: Both lines of ARB Air Compressors are excellent choices. But it’s up to you to decide which you’d like to take on your adventures. With the addition of the Brushless Air Compressors, ARB now offers eight compressor choices so there’s something for every vehicle and for every excursion.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The ARB Brushless provides a 50% increase in output when compared to the current market leader in the ARB Brushed compressor, making it by far the most powerful vehicle compressor you can equip to your 4x4 vehicle.

  • Yes. The Brushless has been designed with status reporting.

  • Yes. Using ARB LINX or ARB’s Bluetooth air suspension control module, you can control and monitor your vehicle’s air bag suspension.

  • Yes, ARB offer a variety of fittings to adapt an Air Locker system to a Brushless compressor using a manifold.

  • Brushless compressor clamps are colored blue as the orientation in which you place them on the terminals doesn’t matter. The Brushless has a polarity correction harness built in to allow this.

  • A polarity correction harness simplifies the use of an ARB Portable Brushless compressor by ensuring that you can’t mix up the terminals.

  • Brushed motors use brushes and a commutator to transfer electrical current to the rotor, making them simpler and less expensive but requiring more maintenance due to wear and generating more heat and noise. In contrast, brushless motors eliminate brushes and use electronic controllers to manage current flow, resulting in higher efficiency, quieter operation, and lower maintenance requirements.
