Hands down, lowering tire pressure is the easiest way to gain additional traction when off-road. Inflating your tires back to street levels can be a bit of an inconvenience if you don’t have your own air compressor. Sure, you can drive to the closest gas station, but who knows how far of a drive that will be. Or you can ask a fellow trail rider to inflate your tires, but do you really want to be that guy? Ask any wheeler, they will tell you that their investment in an onboard or portable air compressor is one of the best additions that they have done to their rig.
A portable air compressor is a great option if you have multiple off-road vehicles but they can take up a lot of space; we all know space is limited in our four-wheelers. An alternative is an onboard air compressor. However, finding a location to mount it can be tricky. Luckily, ARB Air Compressors are compact and universal; there is also a plethora of official ARB and aftermarket vehicle specific mounting brackets. Many of these brackets fill the void of useless space that may be available in your engine bay or under your seats.
This list encompasses many of the available brackets for different vehicle platforms.

If you don’t see your vehicle listed, not to worry. Each ARB compressor comes with a preinstalled universal mounting plate. Simply find a flat, solid mounting location that the compressor will fit in. Using the provided template, drill four mounting holes and attach the compressor using the provided mounting hardware.
The compressor can be mounted almost anywhere. It is o-ring sealed, just ensure the connectors do not see water and the compressor is not engaged while submerged.
An additional universal alternative is the ARB Universal Bracket System. This all-inclusive mounting bracket suits every ARB Compressor and has additional mounting holes for the ARB Manifold, Switch, and Hose Coupling.
