    ABOUT THE BUILD

The ARB Edition 2027 Ford F-250 Platinum is a heavy-duty work truck built for remote worksites. It is made for survey crews, utility crews and contractors who drive a long way on rough roads with a full load.

To get it ready for that work, ARB lifted the truck using its brand new Old Man Emu MT64-R suspension, with an upgraded sway bar and rear springs, able to support the weight of all of the added upgrades. This kit is upgraded with radius arms, sway bar and steering stabilizer up front, and parabolic springs and an air bag kit in the rear.

It features ARB’s new Alloy Canopy built to carry all kinds of tools and gear. Out on those roads, the ARB Full Size Bruiser HD Bumper protects the front end and adds recovery points in case the truck gets stuck. When the work runs past sunset, NACHO lights illuminate the site. And if a tire goes flat or runs low, an onboard ARB compressor and a spare tire setup let the crew fix it on site.

    BUILT FOR REMOTE WORKSITES

Here is a closer look at each part of the truck and how it builds out the ultimate off-grid workhorse.

    ALLOY CANOPY

The ARB Alloy Canopy is a lockable aluminum storage enclosure that mounts on the bed of the F-250, giving the truck covered space for tools and equipment. It features weather-sealed compartments and a rain gutter design to keep gear dry, even when the doors are open. To hold up to rough use, it has rubber mounting that reduces vibration into the canopy and a hard-wearing textured black powder coat. And when you need the full bed, lift-off points let you remove the canopy.

    PROTECTION & RECOVERY

Jobsites off-grid can be unpredictable so having the right protection is necessary. On the front end of the F-250 you will find the ARB Full Size Bruiser HD Front Bumper that protects it from rocks, logs and other obstacles on rough roads. On the bumper there are two front recovery points that let you self-recover your truck or utilize it to move material around the jobsite.

    LIGHTING

Remote jobs can start before sunrise and finish after dark, so lighting for both the drive and the work is crucial on a build like this. You’ll find a 30-inch NACHO lightbar on the front end to help illuminate the road and trail ahead. The NACHO Nano lights cover the sides of the truck for additional light when needed. And everything is connected and controlled on the NACHO Switch System.

    THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM

ARB Edition Ford F-250 Platinum on Old Man Emu MT64-R suspension

Everything on this truck is made possible because of the suspension system that was added. This F-250 runs the brand new Old Man Emu MT64-R, a 3.5-inch kit made for 2023 and newer Super Duty trucks.

    3.5"Lift
    9.25"Front Travel
    13"Rear Travel
    2.8"Shocks
    Up to 37"Tires

    WHAT’S IN THE KIT

The base kit lifts the truck 3.5 inches and fits 37 x 12.5-inch tires, and gives your truck 9.25 inches of wheel travel up front and 13 inches in the rear. The MT64-R shocks are based on Old Man Emu’s MT64, with 2.8-inch aluminum bodies and a 2.5-inch piston, and add remote reservoirs that improve heat dissipation, so the shocks keep performing under heavy loads.

The front coils provide the lift, and multiple tunes suit trucks with or without added weight up front. The kit also includes radius arm drop brackets for caster correction, an adjustable track bar and extended brake lines that accommodate the added wheel travel.

    ADDITIONAL UPGRADES AVAILABLE

Every truck is used differently, so Old Man Emu offers optional upgrades to tailor the kit even further.

    FRONT UPGRADES

For the front end, Old Man Emu offers high-strength radius arms with up to 6.4 degrees of caster adjustment, which is set during installation and locks to maintain alignment during hard off-road use. A stainless steel spherical joint also reduces noise, vibration and harshness.

The upgraded torsional sway bar replaces the stiff, rigid factory bar for a major improvement in ride quality and vehicle dynamics, and it includes billet links and brackets with grease points to minimize maintenance. The optional 2.8-inch steering stabilizer has a large piston that helps dampen bumpe steer, reduces kick back, improves straight line stability and vehicle tracking.

    REAR SPRING UPGRADES

In the rear, you can select an optional set of GVW-rated parabolic springs. Gone are the days of chasing ride quality and sacrificing load capacity. Compared with conventional multi-leaf springs, ARB Parabolic Spring deliver a 35% improvement in ride quality, while increasing wheel travel and maintaining the truck’s full GVWR capacity. They also add a 1-inch rear lift for more clearance and a level stance. The F250/350 springs are sized by constant load, with an OE-rated load, +1,000, +2,000 and +3,500 lb. options.

    REAR UPGRADES

For the rear, there are two additional upgrades. The first is an air bag kit that works with any of the spring options and is made for varying loads. With no air in the bag, the truck rides comfortably around town, and adding pressure keeps it level when you are hauling. The second is a greaseable shackle and pin kit with easy-to-reach grease points that simplify maintenance.

WHY IT WORKS FOR A REMOTE WORKSITE

Heavy-duty trucks usually force a trade-off between ride and load capacity, and the MT64-R is built to bridge that gap, with a comfortable ride and support for the added weight the truck carries.

The kit is not one-size-fits-all. Jobsites change from project to project, and the load on the truck changes and grows with them, so Old Man Emu offers additional options to match. The front upgrades improve alignment, ride quality and handling, and the rear air bag gives you flexibility to increase your load carrying capacity when adding abnormal loads or when you're towing a trailer.
